Christmas Charities Year Round was founded in
1949 after a boll weevil infestation devastated the
area cotton crop. The purpose was to help
affected families clothe their school-age children.
Later that year, families were helped during the
Christmas season.
Since that time, Huntsville and Madison County have
grown and continues to grow creating a greater
need for assistance. To meet this need, Christmas
Charities Year Round now works 365 days a year,
meeting the needs of children and families by giving
clothing, furniture, household items, utility and
prescription medicine assistance, and food and toys
at Christmas.
